Youth are often excluded from policy-making processes. UNESCO has found that even when they are included in the consultation, their ideas are rarely reflected in policy.
Empowering youth is not only having them around the decision-making table, it is about creating the right conditions so that young people feel confident enough and are capable to share their ideas.
The Task Force is focused on enhancing the capacities of its members to be informed on the issues they would like to include in policy-making, but also to capture the ideas of the young people they work within their programmes so that the community is well represented.
Sport specifically is a great tool to support the soft skills that can contribute to this such as confidence, team-work and discipline.
