In November 2017, 22 Southeast Asian youth representing 10 countries, were selected among hundreds of applicants to attend the UNESCO Sport & the SDGs Youth Funshop in Manila, Philippines. These youth became the first youth members of the Youth and Sport Task Force.
Across Asia and the Pacific, hundreds are engaged through the different Task Force programs, using a variety of different techniques and targeting diverse SDGs.
In September 2019, the Task Force grew to 60 youth members representing 28 Asia-Pacific countries.
In 2021, the Task Force will be launching in Latin America and the Caribbean.
