GENDER EQUALITY

The Task Force considers gender equality and female empowerment a priority in all its programmes. We insist on the representation of women in decision-making roles and we make sure this culture is mainstreamed throughout our network, beginning at the local level with the participation of girls and other gender groups in our programmes.

We have a lot of work to do to ensure women and other gender groups have equal opportunities, however, through sport, we can create "safe spaces" and encourage respectful attitudes towards all genders.

Well designed and effectively delivered initiatives can make a significant contribution to the flight to eliminate all forms of violence and harmful practices against women and girls (SDG 5.2 and 5.3).
